The 2018 NFL Postseason Starting QBs

Five of the twelve NFL playoff starting quarterbacks will be making their first postseason start this year. Only three of the twelve have won a Super Bowl as a starting quarterback. Here's a look at the postseason resume of each of the projected starting quarterbacks that includes from where and when they were drafted, their win-loss record in playoff games, and their number of Super Bowl wins:

AFC

1. New England Patriots (13-3) - Tom Brady (Michigan, 6th Round) - 25-9, 5 Super Bowls
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (13-3) - Ben Roethlisberger (Miami, OH, 1st Round) - 13-7, 2 Super Bowls
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6) - Blake Bortles (UCF, 1st Round) - 1st Postseason Appearance
4. Kansas City Chiefs (10-6) - Alex Smith (Utah, 1st Round) - 2-4
5. Tennessee Titans (9-7) - Marcus Mariota (Oregon, 1st Round) - 1st Postseason Appearance
6. Buffalo Bills (9-7) - Tyrod Taylor (Virginia Tech, 6th Round) - 1st Postseason Appearance

NFC

1. Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) - Nick Foles (Arizona, 3rd Round) - 0-1
2. Minnesota Vikings (13-3) - Case Keenum (Houston, Undrafted) - 1st Postseason Appearance
3. Los Angeles Rams (11-5) - Jared Goff (California, 1st Round) - 1st Postseason Appearance
4. New Orleans Saints (11-5) - Drew Brees (Purdue, 2nd Round) - 6-5, 1 Super Bowl
5. Carolina Panthers (11-5) - Cam Newton (Auburn, 1st Round) - 3-3
6. Atlanta Falcons (10-6) - Matt Ryan (Boston College, 1st Round) - 3-5

Pretty interesting that seven of the quarterbacks were drafted in the first round, but two came out of the sixth round while a third went undrafted all together.

UCF to Raise National Championship Banner Because Everyone Gets a Trophy!!!

Central Florida just completed an undefeated season after dispatching Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on New Year's Day. That same Auburn team defeated both SEC teams (Georgia and Alabama) that are playing for the National Championship next week. It's quite an accomplishment for the Golden Knights of the American Athletic Conference. It's the first undefeated season in the school's brief football history (started in 1979) and is all the more impressive given their 2016 campaign that saw them finish 6-7 after losing the AutoNation Cure Bowl to Arkansas State, 31-13. What it DOESN'T do though is qualify UCF to be National Champions. However, as ESPN.com reports, that's what UCF Athletic Director Danny White is doing.

Look, I get it. Nobody beat UCF, so there's part of us that will always wonder. Could UCF beat Georgia? Could UCF beat Alabama? Their case is furthered by the fact that they beat the school (Auburn) that beat both of those teams. But let's face it, on the merits of their results alone, UCF did not position themselves to be considered one of the top 4 schools in the country and make themselves eligible for the college football playoff in its current construct.

Breaking News: Manchester City Doesn't Win!!!

For the first time since August, Manchester City found themselves outside the win column in English Premier League action. Playing on the road on New Year's Eve against Crystal Palace, a side City beat handily by a score of 5-0 back in September, the Blues were unable to break through and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw. This snaps City's Premier League winning streak at an unheard of eighteen matches. Here's a closer look at the streak.

08/26/17 - @AFC Bournemouth - W 2-1
09/09/17 - vs Liverpool - W 5-0

11/18/17 - @Leicester City - W 2-0
11/26/17 - @Huddersfield Town - W 2-1
11/29/17 - vs Southampton - W 2-1
12/03/17 - vs West Ham - W 2-1

12/23/17 - vs AFC Bournemouth - W 4-0

Manchester City outscored its opponents 58-11 during the 18 game stretch, and pitched eight shutouts, including four in a row in the month of September when they won their four matches by a combined score of 17-0. Even with the draw against Crystal Palace, City owns a commanding 12 point lead atop the EPL table with a match at home against Watford today.

David Beckham On the Big Screen??

So, wifey and I were watching the new King Arthur movie and I saw a familiar face.

Yep, that's David Beckham as "Trigger." Love those celebrity cameos.
