The annual Rule 5 Draft was held this morning. Here's a look at the players who were picked and how they fared in 2017:

Of note, four of the eighteen players who were selected came from the New York Yankees. The Yankees saw four of its prospects taken in 2016 as well: Luis Torrens (#2), Tyler Jones (#6), Caleb Smith (#7) and Tyler Webb (10). Of the four, only Torrens wasn't returned to theYankees over the course of the 2017 season.

Anthony Gose, selected 15th, has appeared in 372 major league games with Toronto and Detroit playing all three outfield positions. He hit .240 and stole 57 bases. Last year was his first year as a pitcher.

The top three picks in the 2016 Draft (Miguel Diaz, Luis Torrens & Allen Cordoba) all spent the entire 2017 season with the San Diego Padres.
