I've got to admit it, all I can think about when I try to process the younger Ball brothers' contract to play basketball in Lithuania is New Girl's Winston Bishop's two-year stint as a basketball player in Latvia.
Some great lines from New Girl Season 3 Episode 11, Clavado en un Bar:
Winston: I was the ninth guy off the bench for the eighth best team in Latvia.
Winston: I haven't played all year, they barely let me practice.
Coach: You are traded to Kraslava City.
Winston: The Outdoor League? Man, they play on a hillside!
Coach: I give you surprise tip: uphill basket better.
From what I've read about Vytautas Prienai-Birstonas, the Ball Bros' new club, it should be quite the experience. ESPN's article describes the team as a "low-level club from a small, non-English speaking village" that is "grappling with financial issues and started the season losing eight of its first 12 games in the Lithuanian league... The team has no general manager and doesn't practice regularly due to the poor financial situation."
What could possibly go wrong??
